I was ecstatic when FOX came out with the series Sleepy Hollow and I sure wasn't disappointed in the visuals and especially the story. The plot is thick and amazing. I was hooked, and still am! I'm re-watching it in anticipation of the Halloween season and loving it as much as I did the first time. I mean, who isn't interested in any headless horseman, much less one for a classic and beloved tale re-told?
I can relate to a lot here in this story. The fear of not being believed, the fear of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, of being locked up in an asylum, of being burnt at the stake for being a witch, of being rejected, of being ignored by a close family member ..... well, just the fear. Everything is afraid of something, right? Actually, I'm not. I can't relate to the fear but most of us can. I don't see the point in fearing anything, honestly. I guess that's why horror doesn't give me nightmares. I can relate, though, in a lot of its themes. There's no denying that there is depth here in Sleepy Hollow as there is depth in a lot of the horror genre. For that I am glad.
As far as I know the character and story in Sleepy Hollow doesn't exist but it was based in a small New England town in the Catskills of New York on the Hudson. There are also legends of "little people" in those mountains. Hmm. That's interesting!
